Alarm Problem
I don't know where you are; but why not run your vehicle down to Circuit city or preferably a little custom shop with a good reputation and see what they'd charge to yank the factory alarm out. While you are at it remote entry is pretty nice, I'd probably see what kind of 2-way alarm with remote entry you can get for a good deal.
If you are in Vancouver, BC I know a very honest well priced place that you could get it looked at... if you are not... then go on-line and see if there are any places like the above mentioned one that could give you some help. Good luck.
