As you know, that stock audio system sucks. You have a couple options but I would recommend the simple route. Nice mids/tweets in the doors and get rid of the dash mounted tweeters that fire into your knees. You can put midbass drivers in the rear doors and a sub in the rear. That will give you a simple yet solid sound system that will be extremely flexible for upgrading.
