ANY 22R or 22RE will bolt directly onto your transmission, but the later EFI is completely different than your early EFI setup. 1985 is when the "22RE" was produced - it's not the earlier "22R-E" which is a fuel injected 22R found in Celicas, trucks and 4Runners 'til '84.
