With a user name like "engineer" I am surprised you do not know what a turbo does or why that engine would have an intercooler without forced induction
Regardless of the torque figures, yea its underpowered for a V8 turbo diesel in the U.S. but maybe fine for the New Zealand market...dont make comments assuming Toyota does not have the skill or ability to make something to lead the market...(becuz they have shown that they can with most of their new engines)
Remember Toyota does not only have this stake in Isuzu but also owns Hino.
