Hell, unless we're talking Clydsdales my Tacoma (6500lbs towing cap) could probably pull two horses and a trailer with capacity to spare.... though I'd rather use a 1/2 ton if I had to do it regularily. My step-dad used to pull two horses behind various years of Chevy 1/2 tons... just make sure you opt for the towing packages for the tranny coolers and reciever hitch.
