May Buy '89 Celica $500

My girl's cousin has offered to sell me his 1989 Celica, with just over 80,000 miles for $500 bucks... he originally planned on donating it for tax credit.
It runs good, but body's worn from age (obviously) and will need some body work (new paint job is probably called for) and interior needs some work as well. Mechanically, seems fine, and clutch seems strong. Engine's kind of dirty, but it seems to run fine (Toyota engine of course).
If I get it, planned on changing out the seats and getting new steering wheel (Momo perhaps?). A/C is also out.
Sounds like a good idea?? Also, if I get it, want to get some nice rims, and wanted to see if this model, '89 Celica, had plentiful choices for sharp aftermarket wheels out there.

for $500 you can't really go wrong. Plus the 3sge is a great motor

It could be 3S-FE if its not GTS. Still a great engine.

Thanx for the advice.. also, considering the age, anything in particular I should watch out for (i.e. worn out items, timing belt, suspension, etc.)?
