hey i was wondering what kind of exhaust can i put on my celica i have i want it to sound deep not to loud like a rice rocket. i dont know much about cars but if you can help me out ide really appreciate it thanks for the info
are you just looking for a muffler with a decent sound.. i got mines for about 50 or 60 bucks from pepboys.. sounds real good.. i havent had complaints yet either.. it has a deep tone at low rpm and gets a lil higher toward higher rmp but still carries a deep tone

In golf as in life it is the follow through that makes the difference.
i bought one off ebay for 20 bucks and it sounds real good not ricey at all. like 5thgencelicagts said its low in the low rpms and high but not too high in the high rpms. it still dont sound like no mustang 5.0 though. lol. i would get a full exaust system though if u can afford it. pacesetter makes one or you could get a muffler shop to make you some 2.25inch pipe from the headers to the muffler.
stay away from apexi n1's. i know someone that has it on their teg GSR. sounds like absolute SHIT!
i've got the aussie catback setup. while it is awsome in the utmost degree, just going to an exhaust shop and having them weld on a 3inch pipe with a magnaflow at the end would probably be the best and cheapest solution.
but don't do that if you are turn happy. bottoming out with a pipe at the bottom is probably not much fun.
Ok, I have a question about the celica...i previously drove an 87 transam with 3" exhaust and flowmaster muffler, eliminating the cat. On my 93 celica, i noticed that there is, what I believe to be, 2 resinators, a cat, and, of course, a muffler. The bigger resinator went south on me; rusted out, so I straight piped it, as it was the cheapest thing to do. Now, I see on the forums here that someone recommended like 2 1/4" exhaust and even 3"....what I want to know is how to get a clean, smooth, deep sounding tone on this thing, and gain some hp if it can be done. Do you eliminate the resinators and the cat, or will that cut hp? Please help me out!
resonator actually deepen the tone, reduce virbration while allowing exhaust to free flow.
So don't eliminae resonators.
striaght flow muffler will get you the HP you want and they are all pretty much the same when it comes to HP gain. sound on the other hand is a whole different story. A cheap muffer can soud as good for the first couple month then it slowly degrade to a coffee can.
You can cut the cat if you have a 2.2L if you have a ST cut the cat w/ a straight flow you are going to loose too much low end power
the motor is a 2.2 so it will give you a deep tone already
start with an intake and see if you like that noise then put on a muffler
remember buy a decent muffler to put on (magnaflow and borla) are both good products
or it will fall apart and then sound like louder crap
resonators deepen the tone
my friend has a 92 celica with just a cat and a muffler (no resonators) and it sounds like crap
i have a 94 celica (same motor) with the only thing changed is the muffler (borla) and it is a low and decent sounding tone.
