Gen5 Short Shifter

I was wondering if a MR2 short shifter would fit in a Celica GTS if they are both the same year(92)? I know the trannys are the same or almost, but I didn't know with the FWD/RWD difference.

No, it will NOT fit.
It's not about the FWD/RWD, it's all about shifter rod and shifter assembly design.
You can get a TWM.
94+ Celica shifter rod also fits the 90-93 shifter assembly and give a shorter throw.

the corolla shifters actually do fit with minimal customizing.. the only trouble it gave me was that the little white plastic things (dont know what theyre called) that connects the shifter to the the shift linkage was just a little too big so all i had to do was shave it down a bit and snapped right in

very resourceful.

The '94+ shifter fits perfect and is a bit shorter. No modification needed.
