91 Celica Front Right Half Shaft

I will be replacing the front right axle shaft in my 91 Celica within the next month or so. The CV joint is pretty much shot, and if I've learned anything from living in Minnesota, it's that you'd rather be working on a car in October/November than February. Anyway, I have done this on a 1991 Corolla that I used to drive and it wasn't that bad. Should I expect a similar afternoon with the Celica, or are there any surprises I need to know about before I get into it? Any replys and advice would be appreciated.

I never did a Corolla but I have done a few shafts including a 1989 Celica. It isn't that big a deal, especially if you have a manual. If you don't have one, I could fax a copy of the pages with the shaft.

Good Luck!

I did the axles and CV joints on my '93 celica GT. Nothing out of the ordinary.

I dug out my book and it is my car. I can scan it and e-mail if you wish. Just let me know. It is actually for a 1990 but I can't imagine that they changed that much as far as the shaft goes.

USA OK most of time

Did have one on '92 ST 4AFE left side took a car lift and two guys with long crowbars to remove. Never did figure out why. Right side was no problem. Don't give up if it is tight.
