Yup sure have. Do a Google search and it should turn up. It's a guy in the US. He posted to my thread on the Toymods forums.....

Hi! My name is Adrian and I'm a regular at many of the USA celica sites. I wanted to stop by here and express my congratulations regarding this intense swap and to also say I hate you seeing as you have dethroned me as having the biggest engine in a 5th gen celica. hehe.

I know how intense custom work can be. I have, to my knowledge, the only 1MZ v6 powered celica around. Its a 1990 GT and its been running since the summer of 2003:

I was giving serious thoughts do doing a similar swap as you did but had reservations since alltracs/GT4s are really hard to come by here in the states. That, and I'm trying very hard to conform to California smog laws which seem to be the strictest emissions laws around.

Do you have a write up anywhere on some of the difficulties of the swap and what sorts of custom fitments you needed to do? What electronics are you running? What kinds of mods did you need to do to the bellhousing to get the tranny to mate to the engine?

Again, excellent work. I'm sure its going to be a fun car to drive!

There are now 2 california cars powered by 1mz's that are passing smog. The one guy in Santa Barbara with the Celica.... and Randy in San Diego with his V6 MR2.

Yeah it has been done. 3 of the 4 engine mounts are actually on the tranny, so the only one you need to think about is the one on the engine. After that it's exhaust, plumbing, and wiring of course!

so its pretty doable right. what kind of modifications would have to be done on that final mount? i think wiring will be the biggest biotch in this swap as with most swaps.

No idea.

Yeah, but you can send them to me and I can take care of it.
