the Supra twin-turbo to single is for people who think in straight lines (qtr mile). By just that conversion, Supra owners can make huge power gains, at the expense of turbo lag (huge lag).

I can think of 4 reasons real quick why you would go twin turbo to single conversion.

You just toasted your twins setup, and don't wanna pay toyota a mint for new ones.

You need more power than the stock twins can provide.

There are many single kits out there. As far as i know, only HKS makes a twin turbo upgrade.

it is cheaper to buy/make/install a single kit than a twin turbo kit.

It's always a trade-off. YOu can deny physics.

Toyota chose the twin sequential setup for the 2JZ-GTE basically to minimize the effects of turbo lag.

I do know a person who did a twin sequential setup for the 7M-GTE
