Help - Problem with 1994 Celica Starting
Hi,
I am having a problem with my 1994 Celica ST not starting. I have had the car for three years without any problems. A couple of days ago, it wouldn't start, just kept getting a loud clicking sound when I turned the key. I tried jumping the car, thinking it was a dead battery, but it still wouldn't start. The tow truck was able to get it to start when he connected the ground jumper cable to the engine block; it wouldn't start when he had the jumper cable connected to the car body. Once he connected the ground to the engine block it started right up and it ran fine. When I took it over to the mechanic, they told me the battery was fine, its about three years old, and they told me they couldn't replicate the problem. Does anyone know if this is a common problem when the starter begins to go out or is a problem with the wiring, like the connections between the grounds? I just don't want to get it back and a week later get stranded somewhere because it starts acting up again.
Any advice and feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
