Just picked up a 91 celica GT, have some questions...

Hey all,

I picked up a 91 celica GT with 183k miles that seems to run good, i need it for a commuter to college in a really crappy neighborhood.

I just want to know if the timing belt is non impact, like if it snaps while driving the motor wont blow. Please let me know, thanks for the help.

My air bag light is on. Never been in an accident. It kinda came on after i was messing with the fuse box. I am thinking about getting it checked out. One way to turn it off is to cut the wire to the light. But that doesn't fix problems.

There's a way to run the airbag codes to see what the problem is. Go over to www.celicatech.net and register, say hello, and check out the online manuals, it will tell you how to do it. Then once you find the problem you can look into how to fix it.

Don't cut the wire to the light.

Pretty sure its a Fed law or something that at the makers cost air bags must be periodically serviced. They alone have the magic light key.
