Cup Holder

The pull-out cup holder on the 6th Gen Celica is such a poor piece of design and gets in the way of shifting. Taking the top (with the slide-out cup holder) off the storage box and using the box as a cup holder seems much more functional.

Is there an after market drop in cup holder for the storage box? Or does anyone have any other ideas?

The 5th gens are bad too plus on ours the thing is busted and when we put a new stereo in they just glued it.
I would be interested in some thoughts on where to stick your cup when driving cause coffe in the crotch is just not that much fun.

I took out the cassete holder in the center counsel and there is a good sized place to put drinks. That's what I do. The cup holder under the CD deck is a POS when I hit a bump the drink in there hits buttons on the deck. Nothing is worse than that.

Wow. Sounds worse than the SenCrap where I can't get a large fountain drink to stay in place and either hit buttons, or even worse, had a WHOLE cup spill all over the interior. Hated the car; oh well.
