I have a 1992 gt. so has anyone else made this motor, or is anyone else in the process of doing it. Jspec, what kind of internals are you putting in your engine. are you upgrading cams?? high compression piston, or are you planning on turbocharging later. waht about the ecu and fuel pump?

Well frist i pick up my head at the junk yard out of a 86.
I'm also going back to get the crank shaft, this will bring to about 2.1 liter opposes to 2.2. the reason im gettin the 3s crank is for higher revs but i will lose torque, This i believe will lower my compression ratio. with said i did a little research. the 2JZ-GE and 2JZ-GTE share the same connecting rods, as you may know a stock 2JZ-GTE can handle over 700 horse power. but anyway im saying i only going to install froged piston but the problem is that i cant find any for a 5S-FE. Sometime next year i will be turboing the car. cams, fuel system, etc not sure what im going to get but im getting them.
Also i heard the fuel injecter off a 7M-GTE will fit no problem so im thinkig about that. My friend has a 94 rx-7 my goal is to beat his ass with my celica.
If i can help with anything just let me know.

so jayspec, i need a 3s crankshaft to get the higher revs? i thought that with the new valves, and stronger rods, i would beable to go the say the 7000 or 7500 range safely. my understanding was that the 5s couldnt rev above 6300 safely because of the connecting rods or the bolts on them werent strong enough or something like that. well thanks for the info, and i will send ufzo a pm or two

To my understanding yes with a build motor you should be able to rev higher safe. But the crank option depends on your use of the engine. But lets think of the laws of nature. The 5S crank has a longer throw, so thats mean you will have more torque because of the centrical force, but you will decrease in horse power. But if you use the 3S crank with the shorter throw you will decrease torque because its spends quicker and gain horse power. Think of it let this what are the 2 greatest jdm engine. RB26DETT(2.6 Liter) and the 2JZ-GTE(3.0 Liter) the RB26DETT can rev higher because of it short throw. So its really depends what you use your engine for.
