215/45 or 225/45 tires on 16x6.5" wheel

i was thinking about getting some wider lower profile tires for my GT-S. stock wheels are 16x6.5. the best fit is 205/50. according to the tire stats the narrowest rim u can use with a 225/45-16 or 215/45-16 is 7 inches...has anyone ever run one of those sizes on a narrower wheel?

Do you want to do this for looks or performance?

If you want looks, then it's ok. For performance you better stay with some 205.

My summer tires are T1-R in 225/45/16 format and I love it!

It's a little wide for the rims but it does look nice. One thing for sure is you will never damage the rim with a tire that wide!
