5th gen celica sunroof motor

Has anyone replaced their sunroof motor?
I had to open up my sunroof motor to see what was wrong with it but now I forgot how to put it back together....
There's this one gear that has an arrow on it and also a "stick" to turn the pink cap that regulates when the motor stops.

So my problem is that I think I need to sync that gear with another part of the motor that has a dot on it so the timing is correct but I'm not sure if I'm suppose to align the "stick" to the dot or am I suppose to align the arrow with the dot.

any ideas?
