2560-2580 lbs for a 2.2L iron block engine coupe/hatch car doesn't sound "pretty heavy" to me.
About 5% heavier than the 7th gen that came 25with 1.8L engine aluminum block.
Fast and slow depends on what car have you been driving and what purpose of this Celica.
By the way, you might wanna try talk down the price a bit.

You also have to figure out what kind of repairs it's going to need.

supposedly, you dont need any fixing on this car, because the person selling to me said he's sellign this car cuz he's moving outta state. I'm currently driving a 98 corolla le...will this car feel faster than my corolla?

If i do get htis car, imma put trd exhaust and intake, rims and maybe a wide body kit.

thanks for the replies, and keep on replying!!

I have a 1994 celica st, i got it for $450 dollars with 162,000 miles. and even though my st has a 1.8l, with simple instals, its pretty fast. all i had on the motor before it stopped running was a universal intake. so the car is pretty fast, but talk him down to 2,500-3000.
