91 celica gt hatchback

the power steering went out, it turned out to be a hose, when it was fixed, drove it for about a day and the spark plug blew out?? i mean literially....opened to hood and the spark plug blew out of the socket, put it back in, start the engine again and the plug blew out again, by blew out i meant shot right out of the socket, why is it doing this?????? why......this gen celica is known for stuff like this to break down??

I had a plug spin out on me also. 91 GT 2.2L 5SFE. No idea why. Threads were still intact, so just re-tightened the plug and have had no problems since. Make sure that the plug didn't strip out any threads from your block. My power steering sucks also. I think there are a few things in common with the 1991 GT Hatchback 5SFE:

1) Power Steering Issues
2) Door switch failure (Car does not recognize the doors being opened)
3) For whatever reason, there are 2 5SFE posts regarding plugs spinning out of blocks within the last 2 weeks. Of course, there is a certain level of coincidence that must be taken into consideration, but you never know.

Anyone have any comments?? 230K and running strong, so I'm not too concerned with fixing much at this point. Just need it to get me through the winter and I'll dump it to some kid for 1000 bucks.
