6 speed tranny?

I have a 5SFE in my celica. My synchros are burnt, I need to rebuild my tranny. No big deal.

However, if it's possible, I would like to upgrade to a 6 speed.

I think there was a 6 speed mated to a 3sgte in the MR2. I know I will have to customize the shift linkage, but thats alright.

What 6 speed transmissions can I bolt up to my 5SFE?

Reason I would like a change, is because the gearing of my current tranny sucks. I spend a lot of time on the highway. Being at 3000rpm at 104 kmh is gay.

sorry, no 6-speeds were ever mated to a S block.

first 6speed for the celica was the 7thgen GT-s's

without a custom job, you're stuck with a 5spd, but you might be able to replace the 5th gear with one from like a 5spd camry maybe and it would probably be a bit taller for ya.

You could go monster tires and that will lower your rpms.

I personally spend a lot of time on the highway too so I got bigger tires....

don't know the details on your current transmission but a 7A-FE (C52) transmission should be a bit better

1st 3.166
2nd 1.904
3rd 1.310
4th 0.969
5th 0.815
Final 3.722

you can calculate your rev's at any speed in any gear use:

205/45R 16 @ 100km/h = 2708rpm

My guess would be you have the 4.312 final drive gearing

Oh there is a 6spd you can use it comes off the 4A-GE 20 valve blacktop (C60) good luck finding one and if you do it will be $$$$

1st 3.166
2nd 2.050
3rd 1.481
4th 1.166
5th 0.916
6th 0.725

Final 4.529

***Edit*** Im a idiot i thought you had a 5A-FE not the 5S this might be complete BS
