Stock sub and amp... in my 1983!

Pulled the original radio out today as the antenna wire was loose, and I saw an amp under the radio! After a little searching, I found a 4" or so subwoofer in the dash on the passenger side!

Is it rare, or was it stock to all of them?

A 4" sub? Are you sure it wasn't just a speaker?

Nope, it was only the bass, no highs or mids at all!

Do you have the GTS?

It was a stock Item with the Supra and they installed the same sound system into the GTS as the Supra. That is how toyota got such a full sound out of the front sound stage with 3" full range speakers.. (they added a little bass) I think the amp puts out 15w mono at 4 ohms.

not rare stock on most of them kinda neat though I had one in both my 83 Gt and my 85 Gt

No I have the GT. Neat to know that sort of stuff was around in 83!
