my friend, in replacing his serpentine belt on his 89 celica GT-S, the bolt for the tensioner sheared off at the top, now he cant drive it home...any ideas on what to do, all our local parts places dont have it, im expecting a trip to the junk yard! any help appreciated!

if its the same as the 3sgte couldnt you just thread a nut on and put a washer to hold it in place until he got home?

what you can do is take the bolt off going onto the pulley and that will allow you to get at the busted bolt. You can then jam the unit into a vice and make a temp fix. My tensioner bolt is all warped and shit so when ever I remove the belt I take it off at the pulley

well, hes just gonna get a new whole pulley, and toe his car home.
