Red face New AIR INTAKE - HELP! Newbie...

Hey guys, my bro just got an air intake for his 93' Celica and we just finished installing it. There is a large vacuum noise that comes from the cone filer when the engine is running. Also, he has noticed that he must depress on the accelerator harder in order to get up to higher RPM.

The intake came with a long skinny hose, i wasnt sure if this needed to be hooked up to the air intake system. What is its purpose and how does it work?

Is this normal when with an air intake system(not cold air by the way)? Thanks for any help you can provide us with.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the long skinny hose is a breather hose for the oil.

i belive there shouldnt be a hose before any air metering device, they should all be after the cone.

make sure the breather hose is connected as mentioned. using a mini air filter is a bad idea as that air youre venting has been metered and registered by the ecu. mini breathers on pcv's mess up a/f ratio.

also its probably hot so youre loosing power. typical short ram intake stuff.
