I am finally boosted yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Whats up guys my 1992 toyota celica(5sfe) is finally boosting. I have a small turbo that I ordered from ebay for 200.00 new in the box. The wastegate is set to 8.7psi and when I am boosting it reads 7.3psi on the intake side. So I guess I am loosing about 2psi through the intercooler. The car feels like a feather being pushed around by air. Loving it man.

Gen5

Yea exept no one told me what type of oil to use. I was using 5w20 pensoil and I added some oil enhanser(which made it thicker). Today when I crank up the car smoke was coming out the tail pipe. Then later cleared up once the car was warmed up so I thought nothing of it. So I went on a few boosting runs and everytime I boost there is smoke coming out of my pipe. Blue smoke. So i thought damn my seal in the turbo must have went. So I started back home and at 7psi my boot came off the intake. When I looked inside the boot oil was inside the intercooler pipe and that was what caused the boot to come off. Damn did not know that you cannot use heavy oil in a turbo setup. The car still boost but not without the blue smoke. Oh I forget to mention my safcII does not detect any knocking while in boost. The msd map must be doing its job. Guess I will be getting a new turbo. WHAT TYPE OF OIL ARE WE SUPPOSE TO USE WITH OUR 5SFTE

First Installed Oil Feed Line [after Changing The Oil Of Course]
Poured Oil Inside Turbo Drain Hole
Installed Oil Drain Line
Took Wires Off Igniter And Crank The Engine For 1 Min
Connected Igniter
Started Car
Let Ran For 20 Min
Then Started Boosting

Yea Ill sell it for 100.00. Im gona try to change the oil to a lighter weight and see if that will help the oil flow first and add more crankshaft ventallation. If its still smoking Ill sell it to ya... Now a days its cheaper to buy another one... If thatone goes Im gona build a na engine... from stratch.

nice man.. i have the same intercooloer.. or atleast one really close to it. w/e you do dont let your a/f go lean. if you look up at "5sfe troubles" a few threads up you'll see what i did to my old pistons boosting 9 psi with messed up fuel management. Rubuilt the engine and now having a few troubleshooting errors.. anyways.. you can check it out.

Ok fixed oil problem... Found out that the oil return line was too small. Replaced with larger steel braided hose and no more blowing oil.. Something that simple.... Anyway now I am slipping in third fourth and fith gears at 7psi. Dosent slip until that boost. Dont understand I have a stage 2 F1 racing clutch. Says It supports up to 250hp. Any suggestions guys???

haha i have the same one.. havent installed it yet though.. i spun a rod bearing after my recent rebuild, so im replacing the crank, and i just found out that i have to remove the tranny to take the crank off, so i think i might throw my stage 2 F1 clutch in also.. Its BLUE huh? well anyways. let me know how your f1 clutch holds up, cuz i wanna know. later.
