1996 1.8 Starter Removal Assistance Needed

Hey everyone, I am purchasing a 1996 25th Anniversary with 136k miles and auto transmission. The car has a bad starter. I have a working condition, OEM starter being over-nighted to my home.

Can someone please take me through the steps of starter removal? I inspected the engine bay but could not find it. I jacked up the car and still could not find it. I currently have no running vehicles, and I'm expected at work 7-330 with no excuses. Any help is GREATLY appreciated. I plan to spend a lot of time on this site and helping others. My other car is a '99 VR-4 (Mitsu 3000GT), she just cannot come out of the garage tomorrow. I've been a member of 3Si.org/forum for 5 years and still love these imformative forums. Thanks in advance.

im assuming this is a ST with the 7A-FE? if so the starter is in the back under the intake manifold it has 2 horizontal bolts 12 or 14mm. Now on a corolla its possible to get the starter out the top i have done it a few times and its fine, but with the Celica the firewall may be different and it may have to come out the bottom

Thank you VERY much for the quick response. If others can help please do! Yes, this Celica is the ST with 7A-FE.

Try removing intake pipe and see if you can see the starter.

Thank you Pineapple at the top of your quote it says "4A-FE" is that a typo?

Is the starter being removed from the bottom of the car or the top?

Added acturall page.
Its not a typo, my manual is for 1990 Celica but it should be pretty close between the 4A-FE and 7A-FE.

Thanks to the guys that answered my PMs. Well today is the day I find out whether I love or hate these cars. I'll have my laptop right next to me in the garage, if anyone else has helpful hints, please do not hesitate to type to me!

UPDATE:

Been on the road now for 2 days and 180 miles since the starter install. It was a bitch, but now I am a bit more familiar with the car, and I'm 99% sure the water pump will be my next job. (Anyone that has a water pump or knows a good place to buy one, please let me know.) I hear some chatter that I believe is coming from the water pump.

This Celica drives very nicely, except for the fact that it is very slow. All in all, a perfect daily driver.

I needed a new battery at the same time as the starter. Another thing to note is the COLOR of my coolant which is a mud color! I will be draining the coolant soon and I will add Water Pump Protectant/Sealer, along with the coolant. I hope it doesn't turn brown again!

Thanks again to everyone here, I can't wait to give back. Hmmm, does anyone need any B13 (91-94) Nissan Sentra parts?

If it's a standard, just push start it. I drove around like that in my civic for a few days when fedex lost my starter.
