Rust!!

I hate rust. More specifically, the rust on '83 Celica GT's... The damn stuff is sticking on the trunk lid and will refused to be patched up. It's her second trunk lid now, and I'm afraid we're gonna have to replace it again due to rust. Anyone have any suggestions on patching up/removing the rust? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks all.

Is there any other possible way to get rid of the rust without replacing the whole trunk lid?

The only way to get rid of rust permenantly is to cut if off, and I'm sure you don't want to cut and patch. It's a lot easier just to get a rust free trunk!

I cut a lot of rust off my car when I did the body work on it myself, and trust me, it's not an easy task to do, and it's even harder to weld and patch it up and make it look clean..

Good luck..
