Problems with the '85 GT-S

Ok, So first off, as I start my car, it tends to sputter when cold/warm for about 3 seconds after i turn the motor over. Kinda figured for an old car it to do that when it was cold. But i let it run for a few minutes then go to take off. Barely pressing on the gas it seems to sputter a little, but as i give it more gas, Takes right off. So i dumped in some fuel injector cleaner... didnt seem to fix the problem. I thought I would figure out how to fix that problem later. Next, im driving about 60(even though the speedometer says Im doing 65) I thought i would find out how to fix that by asking someone on here. But as I drive 60, I hear this winding noise from my tranny, push the clutch, rev it up a little, The wind goes with the engine. I figured wonderful, tranny is acting up. Also with my tranny my stock shifter seems to have about 2 inches each direction of play in every gear. So, right now I would like to figure out what these problems might be before something really bad happens and i spend more than what i need to get it fixed. Feedback would be great. Thanks

The play is normal mine does it whebn you buy or make a short shifter you fill in the "Void" in the shifter. the shifter ball is about 1" OD and the cup is about 1.5" ID. As for the sputter check plugs, Wires, Cap, Rotor, fuel filter if they have not been changed in awhile or car has sat for awhile change them put NGK plugs or Toyota plugs in it DON'T US DOMESTIC PLUGS. I have had nothing but bad luck using them. stick with single electrod imported plugs, I spent the money on Toy tune up parts all above listed items and have not had a problem since. Last thing after the tune up check timing. Hope this all helps.
