Yearly Maintenance Costs? Advice appreciated.

Hello Celica People,

Been looking at buying a Celica since I lost my last car... But wanted to get an idea on the average yearly maintenance costs.

Haven't decided on 6th or 7th Gen. Like the newer space craft look though, unique as it is.

My last car was a 1985 BMW 635CSI, which was costing between $1,500-$2,000 a year. Broke me pretty fast. I had a car in rough shape though, but even the average good one costs about $800-$1,000 a year for maintenance. Loved the car, power, beauty, handling, luxury... But d@mn it was expensive.

Anyways, family had Toyotas in the past, and still have a 1985 4X4. Always seem to at the very least start and run... Thought maybe some people on here could help me out? Maybe prepare me for ownership

Also, I live in a VERY hilly/mountainous area. Highest spot on highway 101 from LA to Canada is between here and the next town. Pretty much any direction I go will be up hill. These cars able to accelerate going up? Or should I count on gaining speed before the hill?
