reverse lights/dome light

2 problems....

1: the reverse lights don't come on. i have a 90 auto celica gt. i checked (in case hell froze over) and the bulbs were fine....(rare chance both would go out)

2: the dome light doesnt come on when the driver's door is open, but it does when the pass. door is open....where is the switch that triggers when the door is open....

3 problems i guess....where is a cheap place to get the FSM online...either digital or actual book....

Thanks!

there should be a switch for the reverse lights under the center counsil and the switch for the door is in the door jam right below the door latch, neither of mine work so its probably common problem

Easy and cheap fix for the door lights, unscrew the switch by pulling back the rubber on the bottom, it'll come out and you can disconnect it. Then take some electronics cleaner ($3 or so) and spray the stuff inside the switch itself. You may need to take a thin piece of metal or plastic wrapped in sandpaper and slide it into the switch itself, it'll be more clear when you take it out, then spray again. Takes 5 mins.

As for the reverse switch, its likely an unplugged harness off the tranny.

You're not trying hard enough, oddly, thats exactly what I say when I demand my quarter back from yo momma.

Aside from that little lever, theres a rubber accordian like thing that you will be looking at dead on when you kneel (and it seems you should be familar with kneeling) at the side of your car, looking in. Pull up the bit of rubber at the bottom and you can follow along with my other post.
