What can i do and how 85 GT

Ok, so my mom has had the car since it was new and i got it when i turned 16 I am 23 now. I love this car. I have put it through hell and now I want to restore it to orignal inside and out, but want to sup up the engine, supinsion and brakes.

About the engine, it is a 22re 2.4 l. it runs well but has about 500k miles on it. Has some rattles, and seems a bit sluggish. Would it be better to rebuild, if so what parts whould you recmend be but in to it. And any ideas on turbos.

Can you put all wheel disc brakes on this model.

Also it originally had a vinal 1/4 top but the glue has come undone has anyone had one successfully had one but back on.

thanks much

danny

The 85 GT is a good car.

See the following for engine upgrades.
Put a 20R head on it for higher comrpession and a decent exhaust manifold.

You can get the parts at

Suspension.
Bigger swaybars frotn and rear will help a lot.
Polyeurothane bushes helps lots.
You can get new springs, shocks, swaybars, etc at

Tell Josh that Stepho sent you.

If memory serves me right, the '85 RA65 GT-S had IRS with disc brakes.
This is an easy swap for any RA6# chassis.
Also gives you a stronger diff (F series rather than weaker T series) with more chance of finding an LSD for it too.
(I might have to double check some of this stuff on the US microfiche, because I'm more used to Australian and Japanese spec models.)

By they way, can you tell me the 4 character diff code written on the build plate in the engine bay (looks like T292, F314, or similar).
