Safari Celica

Hi guys, I am new to Celica's: I bought my first one recently. It is an ex Safari ST165 from the year 1991. I am looking for as much info as I can to restore this car in its original glory. So if anybody has pics or info from that safari, please let me know.

For now I am really interested to know if anybody knows something about this car:

The pics are found on the net and mailed to me, but I do not know its origin. I am anxious to get in contact with the owner. I plan to rally my car after I have brought it back in this type of condition.

All help appreciated!!
Cheers, Peter, Netherlands

Hi Peter,

That is a very nicely made plastic model.

Just in front of the rear wheel arch it says "Toyota Team Europe".
They used to have a history section on their www.tte.de website but it has disappear since the last time I look at it.
Do a websearch on TTE and ST165 and it comes up with plenty of sites giving information and pictures.

If your car is one of the original cars used in the Safari rally then it is a historically significant car.

Thanks, Stepho,
Apparently there has been a safari st165 from waldegaard at goodwood. I am really anxious who owns that REAL car. Even this model would be very nice to have. I could only see a flaw at the left mirror. Furthermore it looks perfect. If anybody has pics of celica's in the 1991 safari, please mail them to me.

Thanks! Peter
