First off id just like to get this out of the way,, Hello im new xD, anyways...im in need of your help . Id love to be part of the community here but just wouldnt feel right if i didnt have a car to show off here so i put this to you.

Im still fairly new on the car scene and have seen little of the whole picture. Especially with Toyotas. In any event I found a Celica back home im kind of interested in but in my opinion the guy is asking too much. If someone with a vast vast knowledge about the car in question can put in their 2 cents on this it would be greatly apprectaied.

The car is located at that link and like I said I believe the price is too high for a car with such high miles. Please respond to this message with what you think I should offer for the car and please give a detailed description as to why...because I have to sound professional when i reason with this gyu as well and would like to have some sort of idea what i am talking about at the time that I do this.

first off, welcome to the toyota community :]

im actually new too. i just bought my 95 celica gt last week and im loving it hehe. well i paid about $2000 cash for mine. body is in great condition, has power everything, a/c blows cold, and i bought it at 164,xxx on the odometer. dont really look for the high miles. you can try negotiating on the price but if it has no rust on the body, no leaks of any kind, or any rust on the underbody then yeah give him your best offer. thats what i did lol goodluck to ya

$4000 may just be his starting price...offer him $3K and work up..drive it and check it over well...if you aren't sure, pay mechanic to check it out..the could probably put on a diag machine and give you an idea of how the internals are. But to be honest..if the maintenance has been kept up, 170K is early mid life on a toyota...remember the comercials of people running the toyota trucks over a million miles. Not saying you'll get that kind of life out of every toyota, but if it's taken care of you'll get a long life out of them. 170K on an american car, even well maintained and you are looking at the down hill side of it's life.
