How to replace 91 power steering belt

while out of town the big belt that runs the alternater and ac broke and took out the power steering belt. I replaced the big belt but do not know how to do the power steering one. I can hardly see the back sprocket. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

You need an 45 degree offset 14 mm box wrench.
Jack up the car, remove right front wheel;
remove inner splash shield;
with back up 14 mm wrench on the nut, loosen pivot bolt;
loosen adjustment bolt; pull the pump toward engine block;
install new belt;
wedge large screwdriver between pump and its bracket, pull the pump toward the fire wall ,tighten adjustment bolt.
Reverse the rest of procedure.

A rachet wrench will make it alot easier.

Assuming it's a 5SFE, there isn't much room for a rachet wrench.
The box wrench works better.

Make sure you have as much tension as possible on the belt. It can be hard to get.
Also, if you have trouble getting the belt onto the pulley, try a ROUNDED OFF screwdriver [flattip].

hello, reviving this old thread, I have a question. I tried today to change my belts, the Alternator and PS belts. I got both at autozone. The alternator belt seems pretty easy because I can loosen the belt easily and tighten easily. After some prying I was able to get the PS all the way forwards(slide toward the front of the car). At that point I barely got the old belt off. But for the life of me cannot get the new one on. Could it be there is more technique than just trying to push it on? I tried with the belt on the crank pulley and starting with the PS pulley with belt starting on the inside, and on the outside. I could not get it on. Could it be the OEM belt is a tiny bit longer than the Duralast one from Autozone? Thanks, help would be much appreciated!

PS I read that I can loosen this third bolt just above the one I used to loosen to slide the pump, but I could not break the bolt as hard as I try. thanks!

well to answer my own question, I learned that I just needed to put the belt on the pump pulley best I can, thenjust made sure I was putting pressure on the belt that isn't quite on the pulley yet while turning the crank with a wrench(in this case turning the counter clockwise because I started the power steering belt on the top of the pulley so while the pulley moves clockwise i keep pressure on the belt on the bottom of the pulley to get it sliding on during the turning.
