we race on a dirt track in the 4 cyl class. we currently are running the complete stock exhaust system. but now we are thinking about chopping the exhaust off (cat converter and all) if we cut the converter out, then we wont have an 02 sensor. will this affect the fuel injection system by not being hooked up? let me know, any help is great.

Why not remount the O2 sensor on the remainiing stub of the exhuast?
But I don't know if the sensor has to be before or after the cat or if it it even matters.
Most O2 sensors that I am familiar with are mounted on the exhaust manifold but that is mainly for pre 1985 Australian systems.
