well it says you have a 96 3sgte.. do you have an st205 engine? good luck getting a ct20b rebuilt. They never made that turbo here in the states. Sounds like the seals are bad. Did you just recently do a swap? Sometimes Motors just sit for years before the clip is actually bought. What happens is the turbo goes bad just sitting there and when you start it up for the first time without priming the turbo you ruin it.

The CT series turbos are pretty reliable, but especially if you get a clip [alot are beaten on] you have a decent chance of a bad turbo.
Or if you didn't prime it, that could also cause it.

He is correct on the rebuilding.
No one in the States that I have heard of rebuilds the CT20b.
The shaft is thinner than a CT26....

If your 94 3sgte came from USDM MR2T, it is 2nd gen engine (same as ST185) and has CT26.
If your 94 3sgte came from JDM MR2 or ST205 Celica clip, it is 3rd gen engine and has CT20B.
Do you have an AFM?
If you do, most likely you are running 2nd gen engine with CT26.

It's better to buy a new one.
However, for the price of a new CT26 [at least $1500] you can get a better turbo kit from www.atsracing.net or www.koracing.net to name a few.

If you cannot afford that, you need to get it rebuilt.
I would not suggest buying a used one online, unless you know the seller very well.
