Whats up celfatics and toyotafanatics! I have a problem or fealing pretty upset with Toyota. I drive a 5th gen celica half trac with upcoming lsd on its way. Im at the point whether I should put more cash on my motor or sell my ride with stock 2.2 motor. my disapointment is suspension. Im thinking of road racing but I need suspension and tokico shocks and eibach springs doesn't sound impressive. Maybe i am just bored & need something new
1)should I sell my ride? (maybe go honda....... thats a joke!)
2)Of course I will stay in the toy family probably buy a mr2 and swap my motor into it.
3)Save cash to buy a 6th gen alltrac?
I say go with what you're passionate about. And what will leave you with some money for fun. I have an '04 Corolla, I don't owe too much more on it. I bought an older RX7 with problems as a project car. I'm passionate about that car ... that's the only reason I can stand to deal with it. Its just one problem and expense after another. But I honestly believe its going to pay off in fun ... at least for me.

Not only that, but I have a hard time keeping my nails from getting broke because I like to work on them too. I do have to get one of my brothers to help me from time to time. I wear surgical gloves so I don't get so nasty, but that doesn't always work good. As for the dancing ... it pays WELL, and frees up a lot of time for classes. Does not leave me a lot of time for working on my RX7 though, classes during the week, and late nights on the weekends.

Figurative...... If there are so many strippers in college how come I have never got a smart lap dance. I have never seen clear heals in Biology. ~Chris Rock~. Thanks Amber for spending the money on cars and college. We are on topic.... Celfatic wanted our opionions, so we are sharing our opionions.
I think some pix can help me out in such a disapointing moment? What do you say Amber?....
What do I do? I know, Im going to get an alltrac 6th gen for sure. I found an importer and loved the price. I think Im in love all over again! Im going to be able to keep my 5th gen and I will have a 6th gen!
Does anyone know if the st185 suspension will fit an st182 chasis? I don't see why not but what do you guys think/ know?

Well whats the name of the importer? You will have a really hard time getting it reged here in the us. This is an on going discussion not very many people have been able to import a true gt4 to the states and actually make it legal. Only a handful of people have taken a 6gc and make it awd. How much are they charging for a gt4? How much for shipping? And whats there solution to making it legal here in the us?
On the internet? Not a chance. Besides, this is supposed to be about Toyotas / Celicas.
She sounds like an intelligent girl with some common sense.
And she works on cars.
Be nice to her.
The ST185 front suspension will work on a ST184 [ST18 is the 3SGE powered Celica. Possibly 4WS also, but I am not sure]. The front swaybar is a different shape, to accomodate the different shaped driveshaft tunnel on the ST185.
The rear suspension is different. Don't even bother.
It will be very hard for you to find a ST205 to import. They are not common. TRUST me, ALOT of people have tried...
Get a GOOD look at one before you pay ANY cash for it.....
There is suspension upgrades available for the ST184 also.
2 Places to look are Whiteline suspension in Aust, and Fensport in the UK.
well, if you decide to keep your car (technically it's an ST184), I know that there are Eibach Pro-kit springs, which I've heard good things about, they won't drop the car extremely low (1 in. all around). I think Tein has coilovers, and I know that there are KYB GR-2 shocks for it as well.
the MR2 might be a good option, and it's worth considering, as it's slighty better than the Celica and not extremely hard to find
an ST205? HIGHLY unlikely, they were made only for Japan and Europe, and even though they were built from 1994 to 1999, from what I understand, they didn't sell as many after 1995 (when Toyota and TTE were found using an illegal turbo in WRC). very few come over, and don't be fooled by one claiming to be an ST205 that is really an ST model that someone tried to turn into an ST205 (saw that once, always compare and check VIN's, imported ST205's won't have a normal one)
also
ST182 - Japan/Europe model 3SGE powered Celica
ST183 - Japan/Europe model 3SGE powered 4WS Celica
ST184 - USA/Australia? model 5SFE powered Celica
ST185 - 3SGTE powered Celica available to most everywhere
and Amber, did you have to wait on a 04 Corolla LE with a 5 spd. my family had to special order a 5 spd on an 03
