Just bought a 2000 Celica GT

Hi all, I just bought a 2000 Celica GT (automatic) and am planning to do some light modding to it. So far i've replaced the catalytic converter and the sunroof, so everything is up to spec. I have already added a K&N air filter to the stock intake, and am going to clean out the throttle body & increase the idle rpm from 500 to 750 RPM.

My budget isn't really a factor, since I plan to do this over the next year or so, but i'd like to keep it all under 7 grand for now. I'm not too familiar with exausts, but I would like to pick a new exaust system (not just the muffler, I want to avoid the whole "ricer" scene), preferably one that is "quiet", I hate those high piched whiners that lots of people slap onto their Civics around here. If a quiet exaust is either unavailable/too expensive, one with a deep pitch to it is ok. Also, since the engine is low torque, i'm not sure, but are there any bolt ons that could possibly add some power off the line besides a supercharger or turbo? I don't want to add a forced induction because this is my daily driver. Any other suggestions to bringing out some performance are most welcome!

With $7000, you can do a lot to a Celica. But it depends. Do you want more visual upgrades or more performance? Do you want audio/multimedia to be a large factor?

If you don't the supercharger route (if it's worth it to you), buy a cold air intake.

If you're into visuals, a body kit is the obvious choice. Get a nice paint job too if you do get a body kit.

As for the exhaust, you might be able to find kits for the Celica. For my brother's Camry (in the signature), he and I are building a custom dual exhaust kit ourselves, which is grinding off the cost a lot. The mufflers we're ordering are by OBX... they don't sound that bad, but we're on a budget, so I had to cheap out on the muffler. I'm yet to order it though, so I might find a better one.

The Celica is a nice ride. I'm looking forward to getting one myself.

first off, congrats on buy a celica GT
well theres many things you can upgrade on a GT, such as exhaust, headers, intake, lightings, etc.
but if your going for performance on an auto GT, i heard wont see a huge performance gain but i can be wrong. we are not all perfect
