Tires for 2000 GTS

I purchased a 2000 Celica GTS new in December of 1999. I still have it, it's stock and mechanically, it's been a great car. But, this thing has chewed up tires since day one. I understand it's recommended to run a soft compound tire, which I have always done. I also understand these tires need to be rotated every 5,000 miles. I've done this in most instances, but it doesn't seem to make much difference. After about 10,000 miles, every tire I've had on this GTS get very noisy, and start to go out of round. I've tried different brand tires every time, even went with directional tires this last time around. Has anyone experienced this same scenario? If so, does anyone have a suugestion as to the best set of tires to go with to solve this annoying noise problem?

I had that problem on my 1988 beretta. That was my first car. I drove like a bat out of hell. Yeah my tires get out of balance and didn't last very long. It's a combination of me tighting the lugnuts too tight and driving habbit. You might also want to get a wheel alignment just to eliminate that possibly. Or just get a great tire warrenty, then chew out the tire clerk when the shit starts to happen. Best of luck.
