New Celica Owner with questions.

I recently bought a 1991 Celica ST.

I would like to know, what I can do to make it faster. I know all the basic stuff... but I'm wondering which engines will fit and which engines will cost the most.
I would like to know what to buy for the car from two approaches.

One- If you had a big budget, which engine would you buy and why? Turbo? Convert, and put a Supra enigne in it? Estimated cost etc?

Two- If you had a small budget ;[

Thanks.

Also, if this is a newb question go ahead and laugh...

I've heard talk of Alltracs and I was wondering what I could do to my Celica to get it to be Alltrac.

For 5th gen chassi,
3sgte engine from Alltrac will fit in GT chassi without body modifications.
It's the best bang for $$$ if you are looking for some serious power.
Almost all 3sgte swaps retain FWD set up.
There are very few that have done AWD conversion with it.
It's not bolt on. It will take quite a lot of body modifications.

Straight-6 (J series engine) will not fit without serious modifications.
(cutting floor, firewall, etc...)
V6 (M or VZ series) will fit with some modifications.
It has been done on FWD (GT) and AWD setup (alltrac chassi)
V8 (UZ series) will also fit on Alltrac body with RWD conversion.

Do some search on 3sgte swap.
A good place to start: www.celicatech.com

If you want to avoid engine swap, you can also turbo your 5sfe engine.
For small budget mod, consider intake, exhaust, advance timing, etc..
They will not take you very far though.
May be 10-20 hp gain.

if he's got an ST, it would be running the 4A-FE instead of the 5S-FE, possibly a swap to a 4A-GE or 4A-GZE?
I'd highly doubt anyone willing to try a RWD conversion on a 5th gen. Hmm, interesting to see if the 1MZ-FE would fit.
A swap to a 5S-FE and then turboing it would be ok, but you're looking small budget, and 3S-GTE's at least $1000. it might be good to find a used 5S-FE, add intake and exhaust mods. the TRD n-type radiator cap seems to have helped my Celica, the difference is not very noticeable but is beneficial. I got lucky finding it, as the one Toyota dealer in my area wanted to get rid of the TRD Japan stuff he had, so...
with AWD conversion, the Alltracs run a different rear suspension altogether.
unless you plan to convert to AWD, you won't want to run too much power, otherwise you'll get torque steer.
and a Supra I6 is out of the question. it's RWD and there's no room. If you want that much power, you need a car with RWD (ie Supra itself or 3rd gen Celica), in which case, the M or J series Supra straight sixes, 1UZ-FE (V8 in LS400, SC400, GS400, etc) or (if lucky) the 2GR-FSE (306 hp IS350 V6) would work. in fact if I had more time and money, I'd throw a 1UZ or a 2GR in my family's old 3rd gen and have some fun
