I used to be a CS major but now I think I'm gonna be OR with CS minor or Mathematical Sciences... I'm in school right now. Exams are done on the 10th and I'm done on the 9th. Moving back to TO shortly.

Where do you work? I start work on the 20th back at BCE Place.

I'm working at a wireless software company called Redknee. You've probably never heard of it since our customers are all outside of north america. Good luck on exams =)

Were they on the co-op system? If so, then yes I've heard of them. Wanna do me a favour and refer me to work there for the co-op term beginning in January 2002 - April 2002?

You can't so much as compare them to driving with your highbeams because the beam pattern would be different and they cover a different area than the lowbeams would. But as far as brightness goes, it's MUCH brighter than highbeams. Highbeams look bright because they're basically aimed at your face when you look at them. Plus, the light produced is a much cleaner white than the conventional light. The clean white is what those "imitation" HID Xenon bulbs try to produce. The problem with those is that in order for the light to be as white, a bluish film has to be placed onto the bulb's surface to filter out the blue. Now, by putting *anything* on top of the bulb's surface, no matter how translucent it is, you're blocking light from coming through. That's why those Xenon lights are dimmer than your conventional lights. Just run a comparison between the standard lights and say, PIAA's. You'll see that the light area produced by PIAA's are, although cleaner and whiter, is much smaller than the conventional lights.

Just some food for thought..

how much more luminescent are they? it may be a dumb question but are they comparable to driving with your high beams on? do they light up just as much as your original high beams ?

thanks.

Yeah, I can vouch for Arnel's HIDs. They look SCHWEET! I called Trevor but he's out of kits till September. I can't wait to get my hands on one of those kits! Hey Ratko, if we get it together, maybe we get a discount?? They had a group buy for only $400USD!!!! Missed it!! The current price is $770CDN or $500 greenbacks.

Anthony, I say do the suspension. I think 180 horses is enough to tie you over for now. IMHO, the suspension needs more attention - not that it's bad to start with. The Celica came off the factory floor so good that the folks at Sport Compact Car didn't quite know what to do with their project Celica. If you're concerned about snow, go with coilovers - true coilovers, please. Just raise it back to stock height in the winter.

Also, with all cars, the stereo is the WEAKEST LINK, GOODBYE! I don't know whether that's the case Celicas.

I'm happy with the stock system so far... but after hearing Dickson's 10" JL Sub.... i dunno about that anymore. A coilover system would be nice, but the price is just too prohibitive for a poor student like me, just like every other part out there for my car... the aftermarket sux!

I have an '87 Celica GT-S (3S-GE) and i want to make it faster, but i don't want to spend too much money....maybe $600 max, for now. What could i get for this amount of money that would produce the most hp?

Wow! A 87 Celi?

I don't think there are many go-fast parts for it. I say save it for any maintenance costs which will creep up on you. The AE86 guys will agree, I'm sure.
