'97 Celica Special Edition Toyota "T" Emblem

My brother has a 97 Celica, and apparently its some sort of special edition. Its kind of a blueisn purple color. A couple years ago, he had the front bumper repainted, and of course, they had to remove the emblem. Unfortunately, when they removed the emblem, they tore it up a bit. So, he's been searching for a replacement ever since.
The emblem is a little bit different from the regular plastic Toyota emblem. Its the standard T in an oval, gold color , but its a soft vinyl or maybe plastic, and its about half as thick as the regular toyota emblems. The texture and elasticity reminds me of the glue from a hot glue gun. Anybody know what I'm talking about and where I might get one? He's tried dealers and they can't locate one.
