91 Celica ST question

I know you're sick of them but I was wondering about transmission. Haven't read yet, maybe I haven't found it yet but I DID use the search button. How much abuse can an automatic transmission take? I'm sorry maybe abuse was or wasn't the right term but how much power can it handle? I'm going to be dropping a Silvertop 4AGE motor with the matching tranny into my ST. Getting it off of ebay with all the accessories and ECU and cut harness. I have plans to either supercharge or turbo the engine but would like to keep it automatic for now. Thanks for your help

I do not know if anyone has tested how much power these transmissions can handle but it will let you know when it has had enough. I can tell you now if you want to turbo or supercharge the motor after a swap you should just get yourself a 3sgte with a transmission and ecu/harness it will give you a reliable setup right of the start and then do a auto to manual swap at the same time.

I wouldn't throw in a "good" engine in a car that has a woman's transmission.
