2000 Celica GT check engine light

My 2000 Celica Gt has about 85000 miles on it and the check engine light just came on. Other than the light, the engine appears to be running fine...no problems with acceleration, fuel economy, etc. I've googled the issue and all I've been able to find is the following...

The problem could be:
- Lambda Sond
- Catalysator
- MAFS (Mass air flow sensor, placed after the air filter on the intake hose). Sometimes the mafs is only dirty. But be carefoul when you clean it, it's very easy to break it.

Cleaning out the MAFS didn't do a think (heck, MAFS didn't even look dirty to begin with). Otherwise, I haven't been able to find very much info on the subject matter (eg, 2k Celica repair manuals, diagnostic procedures, diagrams for component location, etc).

Any help appreciated.

Why did this forum post two identical threads?? More curious, how do I delete a thread or post that I have made?

your MIL could come on if you leave your gas cap loose...It could be a thousand things. My advice would be have it looked at sometimes those things are very simple.

i would take the car to a local autozone and have them read the code of the check engine light.
