5th generation not too bad, but 6th generation is a disaster for a tall person. Kinda funny considering the 7th generation looks smaller, but had best headroom of the bunch.

From Edmunds
5th generation:
Front Head Room: 37.7 in. Front Hip Room: 52.1 in. Front Shoulder Room: 52 in. Rear Head Room: 33 in. Rear Shoulder Room: 49.2 in. Rear Hip Room: 47.7 in. Front Leg Room: 42.9 in. Rear Leg Room: 27.9 in. Luggage Capacity: 13.4 cu. ft. Maximum Seating: 4

6th generation:
Front Head Room: 34.3 in. Front Shoulder Room: 52.4 in. Rear Head Room: 29.2 in. Rear Shoulder Room: 49.9 in. Front Leg Room: 43.1 in. Rear Leg Room: 26.6 in. Luggage Capacity: 16.2 cu. ft. Maximum Seating: 4

7th generation
Front Head Room: 38.4 in. Front Hip Room: 51.3 in. Front Shoulder Room: 52.6 in. Rear Head Room: 35 in. Rear Shoulder Room: 50.6 in. Rear Hip Room: 46.8 in. Front Leg Room: 43.6 in. Rear Leg Room: 27 in. Luggage Capacity: 16.9 cu. ft. Maximum Seating: 4

Does this hold true for the Convertible? At 6'4" I am really curious about getting in the doorframe. Edmunds has the Specs for the 1999 Convertible at:

Interior Front Head Room: 38.7 in. Front Hip Room: 52.8 in. Front Shoulder Room: 52.5 in. Rear Head Room: 34.1 in. Rear Shoulder Room: 44.8 in. Rear Hip Room: 41.2 in. Front Leg Room: 43.1 in. Rear Leg Room: 18.9 in. Luggage Capacity: 6.8 cu. ft. Maximum Seating: 4

Just want to make sure I can get in the door!!

I've driven a 5th and 6th and riden in a 6th and 7th, as a driver i loved the 5th, almost more roomy then the 6th, as a passenger the 7th is the most room, i'm 6'1.

I had an 86st, and now a 90 GTS and I'm very comfortable in both of them. Gen 4/5 I think. I'm not a small guy either, 6' 280ish (built like a freakin truck) I've never had an issue with Celica's room. Backseat's a little tough to get into, but I can, and driving them is a dream!
