which swap for '73 Celica

Hello, I was wondering which swap would be better for my '73 Celica.

80–84 / 22R
or
85–90 / 22RE

What would be the Pros and Cons of each?

22R would be easier because its carb'd. 22RE would be better for drivability and performance, probably gas mileage too, downside is that you would need to swap out your fuel system for high pressure lines, electric pump and of course all the wiring to run the motor. If you were to use a simple standalone like MegaSquirt n Spark or something, it would be pretty straight forward.

If you can find a 2/3TC, 22RTE or an 18RG, that would be sweet...

I agree with Saggz.

Some more info:
You will need a '75 RA22 crossmember or modify your RA21 crossmember so that the taller 22R or 22R-E block will fit in the engine bay.
The 22R and 22R-E are essentially the same block and both will happily bolt up to your W50 gearbox.
Since you are choosing blocks, look at the following page and select bits to build a hybrid engine with 22R block and 20R head.
