3sgte rebuild to swap

on Saturday my friends and i are talking out my friends cousins extra 3sgte and swapping it into his celica st. we will start rebuilding next week or so and we are gathering information. what his goals are to super bullet proof this thing. we dont have a lot of money and we just want to make it reliable since it will be a dialy driver and maybe up the boost for some fun on occasions. I will be asking questions here and there and providing updates w/ pics so a future thanks to those who help with the process. oh btw its a school project so it will have to be done by this semester.

You have ECU, wiring harness, tranny, axles already? Also got a AFM for the 3S-GTE? You gonna keep the top mount IC? You'll need to get AllTrac hood or cut one. You know you'll need to relocate the engine mounts, don't you?

Air Flow Meter. MAS on other car but same thing. Too many people get the engine without it cause its on the air box.
As long as you got all the pats, you're fine. Sometime it take a long time to get them until you order it from dealer.

ok the engine is out and it as at our school shop. we are guna start measuring everything on tuesday. i have pics on my 2.0mp phone, but no cable to load it to the computer T_T

we are not too worried about the swap yet.. just rebuilding for now.

we are not balls to the walls because we are poor but we want to run about 250-300 with 12 psi on mostly stock internals. (but we are getting forged pistons for sure)

i have a couple questions though.. how much hp does the stock ic support with out frrequent heat soak?

do you think we will need to upgrade ecu (piggy back), injectors, how much can the stock pistons, crank, and other internals hold up to.

are valves and springs needed to prevent floating?

what kind of cams are other 3sgte owners running and how do you like them

are cams even needed for 250-300 hp?

anything else we should know to achieve our goal?

this car will be drivin daily so we dont want to MAX out the stock.. we would rather just upgrade and be safe.

you don't reallly have to do anything to the internals to achieve 250hp safely! i believe jekyl&hyde is well over 300hp on a stock bottom end.

are you planning on using the stock turbo???

if you need any parts or anything let me know! i have a ton of used parts laying around from my celica & mr2. i have some used .040 over wiseco forged pistons too. they only have a few thousand miles on them.

Valve float only at too high RPM. As long as you're not raising redline, you don't need to worry.
The engine is stock 200HP, 250-300 is nothing.

yeah i think we are usuing the stock turbo. i was thinking about possibly usuing the ct26 from the supra... that seems like a cheap upgrade, but has anyone tried and seen good benefits? will i need it for 300 hp?

my friend thinking on usuing aries pistons and i just checked the weisco website and there pistons have a unique design. 430hptoy... why did you buy the weisco ones instead of the other ones. what are you usuing now? Are there any other pistons that have some reputalbe history? comments please!

how about fuel pump? do we need to up grade?

and thanks 430hptoy. i we are missing anything i'll be sure to pm you
