engine wont crank

about 2 days ago i went on a boost run with my 5sfte and the pressure never went above 7psi. When i turned down my road to go to my house the car had cut off. So i took my foot off the clutch and poped the clutch and the car started again but it was running rough. I drove it in to my yard and the car cut off by itself. So i started up the car and it cranked but it was running rough. So i turn it off. For some reason i had a lot of smoke around my underbody kit and smoke was still comming out the exhaust pipe for about 2 min. So i went in the house and said i would check it out in the morning. So the next morning i checked to see if the car would crank and it would not. So i had lift the hood and i seen that the map sensor hose had come off while boosting last night. So i thought that was the problem. I put the hose back on and tried to crank the car again and it sound like it was out of time or something. So i check the timing marks and the marks are correct. So next i check the spark plugs and they were damp with gas so i figured that there was no fire going to the plugs. when i checked the plugs for spark all the plugs had fired while trrying to crank. So i had go to buy a new distributor and the car will still not crank. Do you think that the map sensor coming unpluged while in boost causes the engine to be damaged? I have no clue what to do next. Also can the computer make the car sound like it is out of time? Please help me...

No i have been boosting for almost 2 years. The car ran great I use to drive 100mhp with no problems for 60miles at the time. I also rebuilt the engine about 2 1/2 years ago and also i had put on a super strong head gasket. The wastegate is set to 6.8psi sometimes goes to 7.2 but that is the hightest it will go. I never had this kind of problem.

Let's explore the "smoke" what did it smell like? oil? coolant? exhaust? gas?

Edit: also when you say it won't crank... do you mean that the engine refuses to turn over at all?

smelled like gas
and i know what happened but i dont know what the damage was
the car was in boost (6.8psi) at 5000rpm with no map. do you think that could have damaged the engine???????????? today i have checked the timing and made sure it was in time. still i retimed the engine to make sure. It sounds like i am trying to crank the car 180 degrees out of time. the answer to your question is the car will turn over but wont crank

Make someone agrees with me before you do this but..... You may have flooded the engine and can't get the gas out. maybe you could pull all spark plugs out and use an air gun and blow out the cylinders and clean let the gas evaporate. usually flooding will correct its self over night but maybe you need to get proactive about it.

Another long shot could be that your gas pump may be going out and shooting too much gas related to the map sensor. who knows?

B oth cams are turning i have take the valve cover off and watch them turn. Also i have put on a new timing belt. So now i know its not the timing... As for the engine being flooded this could be a possibility...... I will check this out. but for your information i have just put a new pump in when i turboed the car about 1year and a half ago. the engine has been bored out and new rings and pistons have been placed and the bearings have all been replaced. I know this car in and out but i cannot understand what is wrong.....

The spark is very week. So i have changed the plugs the wires and the distributor and still the same spark. If i have time, today i will go and get an igniter from the junk yard to see if this will fix the problem. It has to be the igniter now since i have changed the timing belt and did all the above. and if its not the igniter could the computer cause a low spark output??????? I will let you guys know the results........ oh yea i have go to buy a new g5 2007 pontiac gt yesterday and it is almost as fast as my celica....... but i still want my celica back

Low spark got nothing to do with ignitor, it handles spark timing. The coil determine spark strength. Make sure you got good grounds. Check ECU error codes. It could be something else.

I'm now leaning towards the coil. But if you are getting any spark, your engine should at least try to start.
