i once had a 91 gt automatic, with only 103,000 miles and sold it, due to a real good offer. A friend of mine is selling me a black 91 gt-s with about 130,000 miles for only $900, i believe thats was extremely cheap for a gt-s, so i ask if there was suttin wrong with the car, he told me it over heat quickly, now the celica i had never over hated so im really not familiar with this issue, .. so i would like to ask anyone in the forum if they know anything about over heating on a gt-s manual trans, and if the price is worth it,...thanx to all who help on situation,..

91 GT-S, 130,000 miles, $900, and only problem is it overheats ??? Could be a good buy, could be bad - overheating could be a cheap fix, and that's pretty low miles for the year. However, really overheating a car is not good - if it was driven a lot while overheating, there could be BIG problems, I'd imagine, with the engine (plus, is the car rust/damage free ???). Overheating is easily cureable, but damage from being driven while that hot may be costly, in the long run. Take your time deciding, maybe get a mechanic to look at the car, with the oh problem in mind.
I picked up a '92 GT vert in May, with about 158,000 miles on it. car is immaculate other than a few stone chips, and a top that has a couple of frays in the stitching (original roof, newer back window), but doesn't leak.....yet My first car was a '75 Celi ST.....fun car, for the time
Only if the body is in good shape. You can concider the engine toasted and you'll need to swap in another one. You can try to rebuild it if the head wasn't warped from overheating.
sorry to bring this topic back up,..but i bought the celica gt-s,...i didnt pay 900. i only payed 350. lol his mom was gonna junk it. and it didnt have 130,000 miles it only has 104,000, so i bought the car for 350 and i got to fix the water pump, i took a big chance on it, and it all worked out. car runs great. but! the car was treated badly,..lots of dents and rust spot, and me personally i love celicas too much to be driving it lookin like that, so i took it to the shop, im gettin it touched up,..will post pics as soon as it comes out,..
