Not sure why it's "gay".
But I can understand why the Victorian Transport Department won't allow it on the street.
All significant modifications must be approved by a certified automotive engineer.
Since he's fully modified almost everything (bodywork, engine, suspension, interior), then almost everything requires testing to make sure it is still safe.
Eg does the modified interior affect the airbag?
Does the modified bodywork affect crumple zones and occupant protection.
The video says the turbo affects the power steering.
The boys in blue frown on cars that don't steer.
Of course, there's nothing to stop him from having a certified engineer go through all this.
The bits that pass can remain and the bits that don't pass can be fixed or restored to stock.
But that's more $$$ and time.
He can still sell it - just not as a registered vehicle.
The only bit that makes me grumble is that a uni student can afford this.
Oh well, sour grapes, it is a nice car.
