Knockin'

Hi Ladies and Gents!

I just bought a '94 Celica GT for my wife.A little bit beat up but runs strong. Now the problem is it's knocking in the back.I've changed the structs links bushings etc. spent $700 on it and it's still knocking. What is it?
Pete

I meant the knocking when i go trough pot holes or cracks on the road. Like when you have a really bad suspension.Like it hits hard on something ..I can't really tell....i hope u know what i mean.

A few places to check are the stabilizer bushings where it bolts to the frame, and upper shock mounts. The rubber in the mounts can break down over time. Have someone listen at the top of the shock mount when you drive over a bump, etc.

Clean your trunk out. Shit in the back can cause that. If you have a HB then it could be the lid that's causing the noise. Check your exhaust system it could be slapping the unibody. For example, the muffler may slap the trunk compartment because of bad hangers.
